Objectives - understand the fundamentals of storytelling (character, plot, dialogue, setting, costume, spectacle, time) - identify various writing techniques, styles and media as legitimate modes of representation for student expression - read/interpret stories/questions/perspectives from various sources (lyrics, poems, novels, plays, films, short stories, folk tales, ads, reviews) - encourage individual/group reflection through creative writing, written response, blogging, interviewing and oral conversation
