Objectives

- understand the fundamentals of storytelling (character, plot, dialogue, setting, costume, spectacle, time)

- identify various writing techniques, styles and media as legitimate modes of representation for student expression

- read/interpret stories/questions/perspectives from various sources (lyrics, poems, novels, plays, films, short stories, folk tales, ads, reviews)

- encourage individual/group reflection through creative writing, written response, blogging, interviewing and oral conversation

Objectives
to develop an appreciation for the visual arts and its connection to storytelling and media production; to produce ads, drawings, paintings, storyboards, portraits, murals, set designs, architectural blueprints and other visual materials connected to student questions/reflections/projects.

Goals

§ Introduce simple framework to compose/critique/create art (process -> product -> experience)

§ Create student murals, installations, galleries and/or collaborative maps (human, community)

§ Compile student art work (drawings, paintings, collages, pictures) and public service ads for print/web publication

Goals
To learn the basics of web publishing and computer imaging to create original photoshop/paintshop illustrations, web profile/portfolio pages, powerpoint slides
and iMovie clips for/about student projects.

§ gain a basic understanding of the varied domains/languages/tools in web media publishing

§ utilize computers and the internet to become more civically engaged citizens (blogging, search)

§ become active producers of personally relevant content for the web

Goals

to produce original music, tableaux-vivants, one-act plays, spoken word performances, choreographed dances, puppet theatre for public presentation and/or web broadcast

Goal

To document everything from dances to interviews. Help the performance group with their projects, like recording their dance instructional clips. The audio|video group will also record the play and edit all of the footage to a well done product.
