Bridging the
Achievement GapAbout
The "achievement gap" is a matter of race, gender and class. One of our main goals this year with the conference is to challenge ourselves to critically re-think some of the assumptions, beliefs and trends currently ruling our institutions of learning and explore together alternative ways to engage youth and adults as learners.
In the past, the purpose has been to build networks between various communities, and facilitate an intergenerational dialogue between the hip-hop generation and activists for human rights. People of color, women, students, elders and youth are strongly encouraged to come. The conference remains open to learners from all walks.
